At Silicon Valley Rising (SVR), we’re driving a comprehensive campaign to create affordable housing, raise wages, and build a tech economy that works for everyone.
Our coalition of community members, tech campus service workers, and faith organizations is building new models to preserve and produce affordable housing so that Silicon Valley’s working families can stay in their homes and have the freedom to thrive.
We believe that the only way to solve the housing crisis is to work together. In 2016 we organized community members and collaborated with local organizations to win over $1 billion for affordable housing through the community-driven passage of Santa Clara County Measure A, one of the nation’s largest affordable housing bonds. We also spearheaded the passage of the nation’s strongest affordable housing policy by a transportation agency, steering the Valley Transportation Authority to develop nearly 180 acres of its land to build up to 15,000 affordable housing units.
We are committed to continuing our work to address the housing crisis in the Bay Area and to making sure that everyone has a safe and affordable place to live.
